Dewey’s Read-a-Thon… Hour Fourteen!

Dinner  was some lovely Chinese food -yum! And now it’s on to more reading, reading, reading! First though -the mini challenge:

Set up your Audiobook Dream Date
I’ll go with

Still Foolin' 'Em: Where I've Been, Where I'm Going, and Where the Hell Are My Keys?
Still Foolin’ Em by Billy Crystal and have it read by the author! (Which is what I’m guessing probably is already the truth.)

Dewey’s Read-a-Thon… Hour Twelve!

We’re half-way! And so the mini challenge is:

Mid-Event Survey1)
1) How are you doing? Sleepy? Are your eyes tired?
A little tired and a little bit of the gritty eye feeling going on…
2) What have you finished reading?
I’ve read two graphic novels, one children’s book, one teen book, and most of a short story collection!
3) What is your favorite read so far?
I’ve loved them all!
4) What about your favorite snacks?
I haven’t really snacked (odd!) but I enjoyed both lattes and my Spinach Florentine sandwich!
5) Have you found any new blogs through the readathon? If so, give them some love!
I’ve looked at a bunch -everyone is doing such a great job with the mini challenges!

Dewey’s Read-a-Thon… Hour Eleven!

Wars in Toyland
OH! I had no idea… I picked a graphic novel at random, just because I thought the title was clever -and I really need to read more gnovels. But Wars in Toyland by Joe Harris, Adam Pollina, Brent McCarthy, and Nolan Woodward was a great gnovel to have stumbled upon! Great action and a touching story with fantastic artwork? Good stuff!

And for the mini challenge:
I picked the book trailer for Shades of Milk and Honey by Mary Robinette Kowal

Dewey’s Read-a-Thon -Hour Seven

I just officially finished my first book! And it was United We Spy by Ally Carter… happy and sad feelings. But it was also good for the mini-challenge:

United We Spy
pg 139 in United We Spy by Ally Carter
“Official FBI Post-it pad for your thoughts.” I turn to see Bex behind me, holding out a bag full of loot. Part of me want to smile but I couldn’t. I just looked around the big room I knew so well and wondered why everything felt so utterly unfamiliar.
“Official FBI NOUN pad for your thoughts.” I VERB to see Bex PREPOSITION me, holding out a bag full of NOUN. Part of me want to VERB but I couldn’t. I just looked around the ADJECTIVE room I knew so well and wondered why everything felt so ADVERB unfamiliar.

“Official FBI turkey pad for your thoughts.” I sing to see Bex under me, holding out a bag full of pineapple. Part of me want to cry but I couldn’t. I just looked around the spooky room I knew so well and wondered why everything felt so gleefully unfamiliar.

Thanks to Megan -the source of my mad-lib words!
